<DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"><DIV><DIV><P><SPAN>California requires all retailers to have a license to sell cigarettes and tobacco. As of 2016, tobacco also includes "nicotine products, electronic nicotine or other vaporized liquid delivery devices, and any component, part, or accessory of a tobacco product." However, because a civil code prevents the release of information from licenses issued to individuals (sole proprietors, married co-owners and domestic partners), this map only displays 108 out of the total 127 active tobacco retailers. K through 12 schools, both public and private, were also mapped to examine their proximity to retailers. Eighteen retailers, or 16.6% of all retailers, were within 1,000 feet of a school; 7 retailers or 6.5% were within 500 feet of a school. In total, there were 0.8 retailers per 1,000 of the population. </SPAN></P></DIV></DIV></DIV> |
