Based on SSURGO Soils database
Derived from SSURGO data.
SURGO Soils database 20030522
SSURGO data for Napa County and all surrounding counties was downloaded from the United States Department of Agriculture as shapefiles and a Microsoft Access Database. The shapefiles for Napa and all surrounding countines were merged and than cut using the Napa County boundary received from Napa County. The union command was than used to union the shapefile with the dataset showing evaluation areas recieved from Napa County. A report of Prime Croplands was produced from the Access database and exported to dbf format. The dbf containing information on prime croplands was joined to the shapefile and the results were exported to a shapefile.
