Abstract:
Location and ownership of dams in Napa County. This data was acquired from the April of 2000 version of the National Inventory of Dams website at http://crunch.tec.army.mil/nid/webpages/nid.cfm The locations were then updated in July of 2000 based on topo maps from Neil O'Haire, Napa County. |
Metadata elements shown with blue text are defined in the Federal Geographic Data Committee's (FGDC) Content Standard for Digital Geospatial Metadata (CSDGM). Elements shown with green text are defined in the ESRI Profile of the CSDGM. Elements shown with a green asterisk (*) will be automatically updated by ArcCatalog. ArcCatalog adds hints indicating which FGDC elements are mandatory; these are shown with gray text.

This coverage was created to show the location, name and ownership of dams located within Napa County
With the National Dam Inspection Act (P.L. 92-367) of 1972, Congress authorized the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to inventory dams located in the United States. The Water Resources Development Act of 1986 (P.L 99-662) authorized USACE to maintain and periodically publish an updated National Inventory of Dams (NID).
