The purpose of this data is to provide a geographic representation of the location of the schools in Napa County.
This dataset was created by extracting data from the annually updated public and private schools excel spreadsheets on the California Department of Education's (CDE's) website found here: http://www.cde.ca.gov/ds/si/ds/pubschls.asp and http://www.cde.ca.gov/ds/si/ps/ All fields from the public schools spreadsheet were used to create this dataset. In addition, the following fields from the private schools spreadsheet were included: Enrollment, Religious Classification, and Religious Denomination. Because the fields in the private and public schools lists are different, many of the attributes are blank. However, some attribute features were researched and filled in after the lists were combined in order to create a more complete dataset. Colleges were listed in the public and private schools lists on the CDE website, but they were manually added to the dataset.
