Napa County GIS Training

This page provides information about GIS training resources available from the County.

The Napa County GIS staff is available to assist County staff and partner agencies with any GIS-related questions. Please email us or call (707) 259-8141 with your questions.

We also have an ESRI-certified instructor, Chris Watt, on our staff. Ms. Watt conducts the Introduction to ArcGIS I class several times throughout the year. General information about this class is listed below:

The next class has not been scheduled.

Length of class:
2 full days. Please arrive at 8:15 am the first day. The remaining schedule will be set by the instructor.

Chris Watt has been certified by ESRI to conduct the Introduction to ArcGIS I class since 2004. She has lead numerous classes with students in governmental and private industry settings and is experienced in a wide range of GIS uses. She can be contacted at:

Cost:
The cost of this class is $110.00 for County staff. This fee covers the material costs. For all other students, the cost is $310.00. The class is open to all government employees and staff of partner agencies and organizations. This class is not available to the general public, except under certain circumstances.

Registration:
Please inform the instuctor immediately of your intent to register. Full payment is required to reserve a seat. Governmental agencies may provide a copy of their check requisition or similar paperwork to hold a seat until payment is made. Preference may be given to County staff and partner agencies and organizations.

Payment Info:
County staff should make a Journal entry to the ITS Department to pay the registration fee. Fund and account numbers will be provided, as needed.

Non-county students must pay by check, made payable to "Director of Napa County ITS". Checks should be sent to:

Refund Policy:
There are no refunds or credits offered unless the class is cancelled.

Parking:
Parking at the Administration Building is limited. The parking lot behind the building and the lot at the library both have two hour limits and security is serious about ticketing. Please allow extra time each morning to find all-day parking.

Materials Needed:
Registration fee includes an ESRI-certified instruction manual and exercise workbook. No other supplies are required.
