Data Catalog & Mapping Applications Problems
A number of users have reported errors when using the Data Catalog and Mapping
Applications on this website. These errors are related to security settings
in Internet Explorer version 6.0. At this time, there have not been any reports
of errors on other browsers.
Session cookie problems
Session cookies are used to temporarily store information that is entered by the user.
The County of Napa does not extract any information from the user's computer and all
information in the session cookies is deleted when the user leaves the website.
When a user does not have session cookies enabled, one of two things will happen. In the
Data Catalog, after a user registers to download, the "Register" link will not change to "Yes".
It will appear as if nothing has happened. In the Mapping Applications, an error page will
be displayed when the user tries to interact with the map. For example, using the Zoom In or
Zoom out tools. On the error page, there will be a reference to "Object Required: 'Session'".
In order to fix this problem, please perform the following tasks:
Click the Tools menu in IE 6.
